The variator is one of the most important mechanical elements of a scooter, which allow its operation itself. It is a type of transmission, which has managed to replace the mechanical gearbox of the motorcycle. As for its structure, it is formed by two pulleys with conical surfaces and in opposite positions to each other, connected by a belt whose movement is fundamental and able to guarantee the variation of the transmission ratio. In fact, in this mechanism of the scooter variator there are also a spring, inside the pulley, which is used to engage the short gears, and rollers that are instead needed by the driver to engage the long gears.
